It is no one’s duty to help you, to give you a hand or to do something for you. They have no obligation towards you and, whatever they do, is in fact, an extra step that they do and you should be grateful about. On the road, I learnt to appreciate the smallest things in the world: a smile from someone I do not know, a “Hello” in my language after weeks of hearing only words I cannot understand, a sign to the direction that I would look for, before even asking.
Today, I am grateful for the cooked food I received at the guest house I live in. Hostel Vallparadis is, in fact, a paradise I love.
